Home for the Holidays Survival Program
The holidays don’t have to be sprinkled with angst and dread. Really.
I recently put this question to some clients and friends:

Here are a few of the responses:

I recently put this question to some clients and friends:

“What comes up for you with the following word combination: The Holidays + Family?”

Here are a few of the responses:

#1. Dread…. Then there is the deer carcus, crow hunts, NASCAR. Do I belong anywhere? Do I need to say anything else?

Stress!

My in-laws are a drag. And my mom doesn’t celebrate Christmas.

Screaming children because they didn’t get the exact presents they requested. In-laws asking me if we’ve considered adoption since we don’t have kids yet (nor do we plan to).

I love my family. Love being together! But all the togetherness triggers all of us a little bit and as a whole that can be too much.

This year (and last) has been tough financially. I can’t afford presents and really embarrassed. I’m dreading rehashing everything.

I love visiting my family but I’m the black-sheep liberal. Health care reform has already dominated phone calls. Can’t wait to sit-down to a week of FOX News and political debate. Yippee.

I’m packing a flask. I can’t handle another holiday with my aunt asking me when I’m going to find Mr. Right. I mean, seriously!

Let’s do this differently!

Let me help you get through the holiday season with less stress and more enjoyment. Even if your stressors aren’t this extreme (or even more so ) I’ll give you the tools to turn your triggers around and enjoy the season. These four classes will support you to become more skilled at dealing with perennial holiday triggers. Get through the holidays without pulling out your hair. Raise the stakes for even more joy this season and overcome or eliminate these issues all together.

Q: If I’m interested in this course does it mean I don’t love my family and in-laws? Because I really do!

A: Not at all! It means you are interested in becoming more skillful and aware of needs (yours and theirs), deepening relationships, healthy boundaries and enjoying the holidays all the more. This is an investment in your peace of mind, sanity and self respect.

How does this work?

You can get the entire “Premium Home for the Holidays Support Membership” Program or get the classes à la carte. Classes come in Mp3 Download Format so you can listen at your leisure. Or repeatedly, as needed. The Membership Forum will open and classes will be available for download on November 25th.

I like to keep things straight forward: The Premium Membership (the whole enchilada) is $100. If you’d rather get a class (MP3 and handouts) à la carte, they are $30/each.

“Dear Mark,

“I just wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for everything that you have taught me. As you know, I have struggled so much trying to build my practice by myself using ‘do-it-yourself’ programs, and I just kept getting stuck over and over.

“Giving myself the gift of a truly supportive, hands-on program, has been the best thing I ever did for my business. When I get stuck, you have taught me how to get not only unstuck but filled with the desire to move forward to the next level. Thank you Thank you!”

Okay, so here is what you get with this program:

Premium Home for the Holidays Support Membership

The Premium Home for the Holidays Support Membership includes all four classes (in MP3 format), all worksheets and membership to my holiday-season online support forum. The forum is a place where you can pose your questions, I can offer online coaching and you can dip into our community for additional support and accountability. This membership portion has been a huge hit in other programs I’ve run. People love it and it’s a place to take the information from the classes a little deeper, to share and get feedback. The forum will be ‘live’ from the first class and active through January 3rd, 2010.

Again, the entire Premium Membership Program is $100 and includes the coaching support forum through 1/3/10.

In-Laws and Others Class

This isn’t just about in-laws but many of the topics we’ll cover here often include in-laws. This class is about helping you more skillfully be and deal with extended family, guests and a lot of togetherness with people you don’t normally spend your time. A mosh pit of different hopes and expectations (with a dash of eggnog). You’ll learn to identify potential triggers, build in self-care and personal timeouts, how to authentically and diplomatically engage, deal with nerves, keep yourself grounded, keep from defaulting to old roles and to gracefully handle different expectations. All on your own terms. Note: I’ll also discuss and provide resources for handling situations where you don’t feel safe, in case this is a concern for you or someone you care about.

Included in Premium Membership Program; Also available à la carte: $30

Often business is done in a rush. You take a course, or you learn something, and you try to implement it, and then you’re on to the next thing. And the next. And the next. Although there will be lots to do during this year, these integration months are meant to be “down” times when you’re not taking in new content. Instead you’re focused on implementing what you’ve learned, and maybe even resting and catching your breath.

The month of April there will be only one group meeting, April 6, for Q&A. However, this is not necessarily vacation time. This month is for two things: 1) finalizing anything you need to make your website live and 2) create your first offer based on the teachings from the Sacred Moment.

Our intention is that by the end of April you have your website complete, you have an offer prepared, you know how to enroll potential clients, and you know how to start to connect and network with new people.

Make no mistake, the first 3-4 months of this year will probably be a bit of a push. There will be a lot to do and a lot to integrate. And if you stick with us, you’ll have the foundations you need to make the rest of the year go relatively smoothly.

Disapproval and Disagreements Class

Any gathering will likely involve a stew of mixed opinions, some spicier, mild or more palatable than others. Family gatherings seem to blow this out of the water. Disagreements and disapproval, whether political, lifestyle, child rearing, financial, or even those about how holidays are celebrated (or not) seem to cut closer to the heart and the added emotional intensity can sometimes be too much. This class will be about understanding triggers and how to politely disagree without trauma or feeling attacked. You’ll learn how to make the disagreements less of a wedge and to find alignment and move toward harmony. This is not about avoiding conflict but elegantly reducing it.

Included in Premium Membership Program; Also available à la carte: $30

Healthy Holiday Boundaries Class

In June you’ll be doing two things. The first thing is creating content. Using the teachings from article writing, you’ll be creating content, finding your voice, and putting it out there.

But you’ll also be marketing yourself. Remember back in March when you learned Heart-Centered Networking and Strategic Alliances. Well, actually you’ll have had support to implement both of those as a second theme running through the year. In June, we’ll be taking a closer look at your outreach efforts, and tweaking them to the next level of effectiveness.

Because not matter how much great content you create, people need to see it. And so you need to be reaching out and networking, in an authentic, heart-centered, effective manner.

But more than the money, there are so many heart-centered intentions that can be met through offering conscious and effective information products in your business.

Taught by our product specialist Judy Murdoch, with input from me as well, you’ll learn how to take the information you have and turn it into a product, and thus start to create your multiple streams of income.

We’ll cover how to create quality information quickly, the real intention and purpose of information products, the necessary elements that sometimes get left out, and the false understanding about “passive” revenue, and what really needs to happen to make information products a successful part of your business.

Dates: July 6, 13, 20, 27

This class looks at what boundaries you need to feel comfortable and how to diplomatically yet clearly establish them. These are not to keep people out; rather, let in the conversations, events and people you enjoy. It’s hard to feel safe, much less enjoy something if you are constantly on guard wondering if a line may be crossed. This is a very helpful class for dealing with passive aggressive behavior, well-meaning family who want to know more than you’re willing to share (e.g. “When are you going to settle down/get a real job? etc…) and learning how to respectfully or even charmingly assert your intentions without holiday drama or trauma. I’ll teach you how to get on the same page with your partner or another ally (even if they are not present) to support each other in maintaining and respecting these boundaries. Note: boundaries are not bad! They teach people how to treat us.

Included in Premium Membership Program; Also available à la carte: $30

It’s Been a Tough or Embarrassing Year Class

This has been a tough year for many of us. As we deal with the peaks and valleys of life (i.e. break ups, job stress, illness, money shame) and the additional layer of a tough economy, a tricky job market and, well, war, it may be hard to feel like celebrating. Sometimes it’s been hard life lessons (complements of a 2×4 over the head) and we’re not proud of the year that has been. It may be this year’s gift giving doesn’t feel as flush as it once did. Perhaps you just want to crawl into a hole. This class gives you tools to face friends and family when you are less-than-thrilled with the recent past. You’ll build resilience and peace of mind to feel better, lessen the feeling of shame and learn how to talk about or negotiate the topic at hand.
